I didn’t know you or your music until the day after you passed. That day, I opened my Facebook and my feed was drenched in sorrow and devastation. You obviously touched the lives of so many people that I know. That day I did a deep dive into your music and have listened every day since. No doubt you were talented, outspoken, and woke AF. I’m saddened that you left us all so soon and had so much positivity and truth to give to the world. I’m also grateful that I’ve discovered your work and have shared it with anyone who will listen. Clearly, God has big plans for you. Rest easy.

I still cannot get over the tragedy of this whole situation . Years ago I approached him asking if he would be interested in leading a group with at risk kids and without missing a beat he agreed . Even after you are gone - you are still teaching me, and by extension all those kids I work with , to treasure every moment of life and work to leave the world a better place when it is your time to leave . You truly were a good soul . Rest easy ?? ❣️

You were an incredible young man. You were a light in the darkness. I've cried everyday since I heard about the accident. You were loved and admired by many.

Gone too soon. I remember when I employed you at the health club and you were just getting your career started and you needed time off to get things going. I'm very proud of you and know that you left this Earth doing some great things.

Rest in Power dude. I never knew ya and barely knew your music although I knew about the good you did while you were here - we all know that you are not done doing good here, even if your life was cut short. Your message will be amplified more loudly than ever. Sad to have missed the chance to take part in the flesh, but grateful to be listening to your stuff now.

My favorite song has to be "Moving at the Speed of Bike" -- I groove HARD to that song! I felt an ache in my heart to hear that you passed, especially with this new album, Ready to Live. My good friend Mikey introduced me to your music, unfortunately he left this world, too. Thank you for spreading so much positivity and love, through amazing creativity. You touched my life and thousands more like me. I hope to live more like you and spread love and positivity too.

So very sad about this. You had so much to say; I will tell others about you and keep your message alive.

I heard about you from the news of your passing and then learned about your amazing work in life. We are one degree away through so many positive people in common. I am astounded by your message. At first I tried to push it all out of mind but found it impossible to not learn more about you. I found your interview on KUNM and was blown away ( https://www.kunm.org/post/11519-interview-wake-self ). In that interview it is clear what an amazing person you are. Your message is so powerful and positive that I am uplifted in hearing it even in light of what has just happened. I will listen to more of your work and learn more from you, as you were truly a teacher for us all here on earth. Your positivity and commitment will resonate and grow in those you taught and those whose lives you touched. Spirit works in mysterious ways. You were a meteor that burned many times brighter for us all. Peace and Love.

My heart is broken to lose this miracle of a young man. My 12 year old son and I were fortunate enough to meet Wakeself in Taos this late summer. The stage was glowing with the love and hope pouring out of his soul. Talking after the show it was clear that he was something above and beyond, striving to transcend. So talented and so kind and present. To have this amazing talent spreading the message about the beauty and value of simple New Mexico, where my family is from too, inspired me so much and gave me hope. There are no words to convey the loss that is felt. He left his mark on so many, and left them the better for it.

Wake, My brother, it fills my heart with great sadness, but at the same time a tremendous deal of gratitude of having known you and have been blessed to have shared stages with you many years ago. I've been proud to the utmost of what you were doing for this world not only through your music, but from your spirit that shined so brightly from inside you. I'm happy you finished your album and got a deal that you felt you deserved. You were one who deserved nothing but the best as that's what you wished all people. I know your memory will live on forever and ever in your music and through your endless friends, family and fans. Raise your Zia flags high as this one is for you New Mexico. We've lost a true human being and true talent and I for one extend my condolences to his family in their time of mourning. Andy will not be forgotten. Foundations of Freedom for ever! Love, success and perseverance ❤️?️ Always your brother, Nicholas Michael Duran (AKA Slick One)
